Mari Derderyan was born in Ruse, Bulgaria where she started violin studies at the age of 7 in the national music school. At the age of 12 she moved to Cyprus and became a member of the first violin section of the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra.
She continued studying violin and music theory in the Music School of Nicosia. In 2016 she got accepted in Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, Austria where she studied violin for 2 years. She recently received her Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance from ARTE Music Academy, where she studied with the teacher Sorin Alexandru Horlea.
She has performed with various youth orchestras and ensembles around Europe and attended different music festivals, like international Festival “Kypria”, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Allegro Vivo Kammermusik Festival and others. Mari has had violin master classes with great violin virtuosos such as Salvatore Accardo Mincho Minchev, Sabine Nova, Wolfgang Schroeder and others.
